How to develop a growth mindset

I know the last few weeks have had a heavy mindset focus, but it really is the centre of all we do, without the right mindset we cannot achieve anything.

So, my question to you today is:

Do you have a growth mindset or a fixed mindset?

As I have said your mindset is everything in business.

If you don’t believe you can achieve something, you will never be able to achieve it.

If you constantly blame others, if you constantly avoid challenges and if you constantly think you cannot change, then you will never achieve whatever it is you set out to achieve.

Having a growth mindset allows us to recognise that we can grow and change and become better…

So, what does this mean in terms of business?

Well, imagine if every single time you failed, you believed that was the end of the road and there was no bouncing back, no progressing and no changing, how far would you really get in business?

Not very.

This seems like an extreme mindset, but a lot of people experience similar thoughts, albeit they may not be to this extent.

So, today, I want you to reflect,

Reflect on 2020, what kind of mindset have you had?

In the hardest circumstances, what did you tell yourself?

Did you believe you could get through this, and this too would pass?

Or are you still of the belief that things can’t get better?

Maybe you are somewhere in between…

I am here to tell you, the difference between a business that will survive, and a business that won’t – may very well just come down to your mindset.

I know 2020 has thrown a massive curve ball, a bigger curve ball for some than others, but a curve ball in some way or another…

We have all felt it, and we are all definitely feeling it right now…

I know some industries have seen bigger impacts than others,

But we have all been impacted in some way or another.

So today, we will compare apples with apples…

Entire industries can’t be wiped out, people have pivoted and adjusted,

And the people who have carried self-belief throughout the entire process, are the ones who will come out the other end victorious.

Don’t compare yourself to a completely different industry because you will end up feeling defeated, focus on yourself, what you can do and how you can keep pushing…

Let’s take a look at an example of both mindsets…

I know right now might be as tough as any other period you’ve experienced,

But your challenges help you grow, your failures help you grow, pivoting helps you become something you weren’t before and just because you don’t have an ability now doesn’t mean you won’t have that ability forever.

Having a growth mindset allows you to truly grow with your business…

It allows you to fully adapt & become bigger and better overtime.

True triumph comes from when you don’t just give up because you’re frustrated, or it feels too hard.

Your mindset can be strengthened, and so can your abilities.

So, focus all your energy on having a growth mindset.

Power to you!
