With over 25 years of business owner experience across multiple industries, Stefan Kazakis has earned a reputation as a leading business strategist for small business owners, many of whom he has coached to extreme profit growth, award-winning success and a greater quality of life.
As the Principal of Business Benchmark Group, Stefan leads the team in coaching clients which include Telstra and leading industry association award winners. Author of the book From Deadwood to Diamonds, Stefan is a regular contributor to national publications such as Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Franchise Council Australia, BRW, Australian Women’s Weekly and The Accountant and in the past few months has featured on Sky Business News, ABC and Macquarie radio.
Stefan earned his stripes whilst working in his family’s business. It wasn’t a position he particularly wanted but when he realised that the business was near bankruptcy he worked extremely hard in leading it back to become a multi-million dollar benchmark business over 10 years which was then sold. Stefan achieved this with grit, determination, with the help and support of a business mentor and great people on the team.
It was during a BBQ one Sunday afternoon in 2005, when a trusted friend made the suggestion that Stefan look into becoming a business coach and mentor himself. Within just a few years Stefan earned reputation of being a leading business coach for small business owners, many of whom he has coached to extreme profit growth, award-winning success and a greater quality of life. Stefan was ranked in the top 1% of coaches globally within a world renowned coaching institute.
Stefan knows business having owned and run many in various industries. There is no problem that he hasn’t had to overcome in some shape or form. He has worked with SME’s looking for tangible strategies for growth up to industry leaders such as Telstra, Westfield and the NAB and everyone in-between.
When it quickly became apparent that in order to help more business owners to achieve their goals and dreams with Stefan’s proven strategies that he could not do this alone. So Stefan founded a coaching practice in 2010 and has been steadily growing and nurturing a team of A graders enabling them to deliver his programs and share his practical, no-nonsense approach to turning a business around. Stefan is driven by the principle that every business owner should have the belief to be benchmark in their industry.

In Stefan’s downtime you’ll find him spending quality time with the three most important people in his life, his wife and two boys. His passions include AFL football and the Collingwood football club, self-improvement for mind, body and spirit, training in martial arts (Tae Kwon Do) and his two sons every week, going for long runs with his favourite tunes, travelling and good food and wine. For over 20 years Stefan has maintained an office bearing role with the Victorian Greek Unit of the Australian Red Cross and this past year has also taken an active role on a high school council committee.
