Senior Business Strategist David Ebsworthy joined the team at Business Benchmark Group in early 2016. Highly experienced, David has a genuine passion for small business. David has a broad range of experience encompassing many industries predominantly in construction and trade industry, retail and manufacturing extensive experience in building,leading, training and mentoring high performance teams.

 David spent the first eight years of his career as a senior teacher in the private education system. Seeing an opportunity in the then blossoming computer market he opened a small consultancy business to fill a hole in this space. Always wanting to go bigger and better, David joined the Harvey Norman group as a Computer Franchisee. David as a business owner operated a number of successful Harvey Norman locations over a period of 14 years; taking them to multi-million dollar per annum successfully run organisations.

 Further to his success as a business owner David was headhunted and joined an organisation involved within the petroleum industry specializing in growing its Multi-Site Business Development. This proved to be a success factor in his professional development as a leading strategist as it provided an opportunity to utilise his diverse business growth skills across all key aspects of Sales, Customer Service, Team development and Profit deliverables.

 In 2010 David accepted a position with Hotondo Homes a leading national residential construction business as a Business Development Manager (and later the Sales and Operations Manager) based at their Head Office in Melbourne. His role took him all over the country to coach and grow Franchisees in all aspects of the business including Sales, Systems, Finance, Workflow and Team Management just to name a few; the ultimate goal being the improvement of sales and systems to ensure continued growth for both the Franchisor and Franchisee.

 Now as a Senior Strategist with the Business Benchmark Group, David’s energies are focused on sharing his broad range of experiences to help grow the businesses with which he works. He continues to walk in the shoes of being a business owner and would not recommend anything to anyone that he wouldn’t do in his own business. He calls a spade a spade.

As a professional, results orientated individual with high-calibre sales, marketing and  management expertise, David brings to the team a track record in transforming business results.

Although David is a family man, you will often find him on the weekends recharging his batteries kayaking on Port Phillip Bay.
